Jambulingam (1982) is a Malayalam vintage movie. Directed by Sasi Kumar. Starring Prem Nazeer ,Sathar ,TG Ravi ,Adoor Bhasi ,Sankaradi ,Manavalan Joseph ,Jayabharathi ,Ravikumar ,Vincent ,Prathapachandran ,Unnimary ,Meena ,Rekha ,Varalakshmi ,Pushpa ,PK Radhadevi ,Alummoodan ,James Stalin Perera ,Thodupuzha Radhakrishnan& others. Jambuligam is one of the few colour movies of legendary actor Prem Nazeer. This movie speaks about the past history of Kerala. Where landlords took the saddle of society. Before we got freedom, India were under feudal system. Cast derivation was it's by-product. This country were in the hands of local kingship divided into mini lands and each land was under the control of lard lords.

The British government had given special authority to these land lords. They could collect taxes from any one, irrespective of poor and rich. This tax completely illegal and were high in percentage. The hinge-men of them use force to acquire the tax from them. The poor people were in deep struggle to live in the lands. Because they were under the mercy of them. If any body in unwilling to pay the taxes they will be pulled out from the houses because none of them had land. With the collected ax the upper cast people and the kings lived a luxurious life. A life which built upon the blood and sweat of lower cast people. The cast derivation was so strong that no one ever dare to challenge the special rights of land lords.

The British encouraged this system, because all they wanted was money, which was an easy catch in this fuedal system. But some courageous bloods were united to start a revolution against the inhuman attitude of landlords. In other words they were pushed beyond their limits, so in a particular point they lost their patience. This movie speaks about a such revolution.The hero of our story is Jambuligam. He is making a living by selling jaggery in market. His brother in Ponnayyan. Ponnayan is married and he has a son. The whole story starts as an ancient tale, which is believed to be happened in Vellimala. Jambulingam had a love with the land lord Madambi's daughter Subhadra. But Madambi was too powerful & influencive.

With force he committed the marriage of his daughter with his sister's son. She resisted her best, but it was not enough. The marriage occurred and she lost all her dreams. The couple lived only for some months and he died. She turned into a widow. On the other hand Jambulingam also remained as single, because he could not think of another girl. He used to cause too much agitation to Madambi. Moosakkutti worked for Madambi and he collected tax from sellers and head loading workers from market. He was too rude in character, he had only his mom.

Krauppan was Madambi's right hand, he used to steal the goods which collects from the poor people and gave to his girl friend, who is already married to his friend Muthayyan.Cheethappan was the head of the village people. There were also missionary people, they helped the poor and needy. In the time of famine they helped by distributing rice. Movie starts with a fight scene between Moosakkutty and Jambulingam, because Moosakkutty hurted an old woman. Jambulingam knocked him down and he given back all the money.This news reached in the ears of Madambi, he asked to call a village meeting in the presence of Divan. But the fact was there was already a government order not to collect tax from head loading people and road side merchants.

This order was kept undisclosed in Madambi's home. Subhadra took it and gave to Jambulingam, with the document he escaped from trials. Karuppan & Ponnayan went in a dispute and Karuppaya got smashed down. He decided to take revenge and he burned the house of Ponnayyan together with her son. But luckily the baby was save by Subhadra. Jambulingam, Ponnayyan and all the villagers rushed to Madambi's home to take revenge. But when he saw the child in her hands, they returned. She said it's her baby, which Madambi doesn't know. On the other hand Madambi got the help from police and he started to hunt them down.

Movie flows through a series of vintage action sequences. Now it's time for final battle. So who won the game? What is that so called ancient tale speaks off? Watch full movie.
