ตลาดร่มหุบตั้งอยู่บนทางรถไฟสายแม่กลองจังหวัดสมุทรสงคราม โดยตลาดร่มหุบนั้นก่อกำเนิดขึ้นเมื่อปีพ.ศ.2444 ซึ่งเดิมทีนั้น เป็นเพียงการตั้งตลาดอยู่พื้นที่ข้าง ๆ ทางรถไฟเท่านั้น จนเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2527 ได้มีการปรับปรุงและขยายพื้นที่ในการขายให้มาวางขายอยู่บนทางรถไฟ โดยมีจำนวนร้านค้าอยู่ประมาณ 250 – 300 ร้าน โดยตลาดร่มหุบนั้นเป็นตลาดเดียวในโลกที่มีการก่อตั้งอยู่บนทางรถไฟ จึงถูกจัดให้เป็นตลาดที่น่าหวาดเสียวที่สุดในโลก
